Gwin Becomes Second Consecutive

AGPTS Member to Win the Texas

State Open

TYLER, Texas - Robert Gwin (Montgomery, Texas) is the second consecutive Adams Golf Pro Tour Series (AGPTS) member to win the Northern Texas PGA (NTPGA) Texas State Open.

In his final round, Gwin had six birdies and two bogeys finishing at a four round total of 15-under-par 265.

Bobby Massa (Grand Prairie, Texas) was in the pairing behind Gwin, and was tied for first at 15-under headed in to hole 18. Massa needed a birdie for the win, or par for a chance at a sudden-death playoff.

Massa hit his first shot into the water and ended up with a bogey on 18, which secured the victory for Gwin.

Current AGPTS money list leader Ryan Nelson (Dickinson, Texas) led the first three rounds of the tournament, but faltered in the fourth round with a double bogey on the first hole and four other bogeys on the day. Nelson finished tied for ninth place.

The NTPGA Texas State Open began with a field of 144 players, and a total of 21 AGPTS members made the 1-over-par cut after 36 holes. The cut was comprised of 51 professionals and six amatuers.

The final field included AGPTS member and Texas State Open defending champion Mikel Martinson (Lubbock, Texas).
