Hutcherson and Collins Qualify for HP

Byron Nelson Championship

McKINNEY, Texas - On Monday, 85 players competed for four qualifying spots for the HP Byron Nelson Championship. Twenty members of the Adams Golf Pro Tour Series (AGPTS) were among the field, most of which had earned their spot through last week's pre-qualifier.

Two of the four qualifying spots went to AGPTS' members Bobby Hutcherson (San Marcos, Texas) and Wil Collins (Albuquerque, N.M.).

Hutcherson shot an 8-under 64 giving him a tie for first. He made six birdies on the front nine.

Collins ended his round at 7-under 65, in a three-way tie for third place with David Shultz (Dallas, Texas) and Bradley Ott (Frisco, Texas).

Collins would have to earn his spot in a sudden-death playoff. He and Schultz made par on the first hole to qualify.

Both the pre-qualifier and open qualifier were hosted at Stonebridge Ranch Country Club in McKinney, Texas.

Addressing the Ball
