Coca-Cola Walmart Open:

Round 3 Recap

Alexandria, Louisiana - Making his tour debut this week, Drew Lethem (Overland Park, KS) is off to a great start.  He posted a 7-under-par 65 during the third round and takes a one shot lead into the final round at 12-under-par in the 2011 Coca-Cola Walmart Open.

Although the name listed at the top has changed each day, a consistent theme has held true for each leader after their round; no mistakes.  Lethem capitalized on the par 5's and posted not a single bogey during the round.  He had three birdies on the front nine to go out in 33, and made four more (including both par 5's) to shot 32 and finish at 65.

Blake Trimble (Houston, TX) and Edward Loar (Dallas, TX) remain in the hunt one shot behind at 11-under-par.

Bronson Burgoon (The Woodlands, TX), Dodge Kemmer (Mountain View, CA), and Devin Carrey (South Surrey, BC) are in a three-way tie for fourth place at 10-under-par.

Second round leader Zack Reeves (Arlington, TX) made a couple mistakes with double bogey score at both hole #4 and #9.  He shot a 1-over-par 73 and currently sits in a tie for seventh at 9-under-par.

The final round begins Saturday morning at 8:00 a.m. The final tee time is scheduled at 9:39 a.m.  Admission is FREE for spectators.

Lethem and Trimble are scheduled to tee off together at 9:39 a.m.

The Coca-Cola Walmart Open is presented by Million Air of Alexandria and is hosted at OakWing Golf Club in Alexandria, Louisiana.  The tournament is in it's eighth year and benefits the Children's Miracle Network and the CHRISTUS Cabrini Foundation.

Addressing the Ball

(NEW Change For 2012)

A player has “addressed the ball” when he has grounded his club immediately in front of or immediately behind the ball, whether or not he has taken his stance. Therefore, the Rules generally no longer provide for a player addressing the ball in a hazard.
