Northeast Oklahoma Championship:

Round 1 Recap

BROKEN ARROW, Okla. - Mark Walker (Hurst, Texas), Edward Loar (Dallas, Texas) and Dodge Kemmer (Wichita, Kan.) are tied for the lead after the first round leader of the Northeast Oklahoma Championship.

Walker, Loar and Kemmer all shot 6-under-par 66, and each of them got to the lead in a different way.

Walker had six birdies, three on the front nine and three on the back nine.

Loar made an eagle on hole one, five birdies, and a bogey on the par-4 sixth hole.

Kemmer had four birdies and an eagle on the par-5 15th hole.

Ryan Baca (Sugar Land, Texas) has sole possession of fourth place, one stroke back from the lead at 5-under-par 67.

Three players are tied for fifth place at 4-under-par 68, including current Adams Golf Pro Tour Series money list leader Ryan Nelson (Dickinson, Texas).

The field of 80 players will be cut down to the low 28 scores and ties after Thursday's second round.

The Northeast Oklahoma Championship is hosted at Emerald Falls Golf Course in Broken Arrow, Okla.

Round two begins Thursday morning at 8:00 a.m. Admission is free for spectators.

Walker and Loar are scheduled to tee off at 8:10 a.m. from hole 10, and Kemmer will tee off at 9:00 a.m. from hole one.

Addressing the Ball

(NEW Change For 2012)

A player has “addressed the ball” when he has grounded his club immediately in front of or immediately behind the ball, whether or not he has taken his stance. Therefore, the Rules generally no longer provide for a player addressing the ball in a hazard.
