2011-12 Winter Series Policies

Tournament Fields
:  Fields will be made up of the first paid 84 players.  ALL tournament entries are on a first paid basis.

Tournament Format:  Winter Series events will consist of 36 holes of stroke play and no cut.  Any participant shooting 86 or higher during the first round of any tournament will automatically be cut from the field at that specific tournament.  All events are riding.  Cart fees are included in entry fees for tournament rounds.  Players are encouraged to have cart covers for inclement weather days.

Purses:  All Winter Series tournaments will have an estimated full field purse of $34,000 (or 80% of member entry fees).  All players in the top 30% and ties will receive a check.  Minimum check will be $300.  All first place checks will be a minimum of 15% of the total purse.

Purse Distribution
:  Checks will be mailed to the player's address approximately 10 business days following the final round.  No check will be sent unless the Adams Golf Pro Tour Series has record of player's Social Security Number or Tax ID.

Change of Address on File
:  Please note that although you may change your address through your players club ID and password on-line, you must notify the tour office via e-mail or phone if you need your checks to go to a new address.  Checks are written out of a different database, and addresses are not linked to the website.

Tournament Entry Procedure:  To enter a tournament, all players must register on-line using a credit card or debit card.  Entries will be taken on a first paid basis.  To enter a tournament, go to the Winter Series Schedule page and click the Register button for the event your are interested in playing.  No payments will be accepted over the phone or at tournament sites.

Tournament DeadlinesEarly Entry Discount Deadline - This deadline is one week before the first round of the tournament.  All players registered by this deadline will receive the early tournament entry fee.  Tournament Entry Deadline - This deadline is 10:00 AM CDT the day before the first round at each tournament.

Waiting List Procedure:  When a tournament becomes FULL a waiting list will be established.  Entries are dated and placed on the waiting list in the order in which they are received.  If a spot opens in the tournament, we will call the players on the waiting list in order until the tournament spot is filled.

Payment Policy:  The AGPTS Winter Series will accept MasterCard, Visa and American Express as well as debit cards through on-line registration.  Please note that debit cards with daily limits less than total entry fees will not be accepted.

Tee Times:  1st and 2nd round pairings will be made available by 12:00 PM CDT the day before the first round at each tournament.  Pairings will be posted in the golf shop, at the Tour trailer, and online at the tournament's information page.

Practice Rounds:  Official practice round days are on the day before each tournament's first round.  Players must call the host course to arrange a practice round tee time(s) and are responsible for paying for their practice round.  Courses may charge up to $30 for a practice round.  Range balls will be included with this fee.  Range balls will also be available free to players prior to each tournament round.

Player Attire:  Slacks are required during all tournament play.  Slacks are preferred during practice rounds, but shorts are allowed.  Shirts are to be tucked in and hats must be worn forward.  Jeans and flip-flops will NOT be allowed at host facilities, unless otherwise posted.

Amateurs:  The AGPTS Winter Series welcomes amateurs to play in its events.  However, professionals have priority in tournament entry, and amateurs are ineligible to win any prizes.  Since the Adams Golf Pro Tour Series is a professional tour, players are assumed to be pros unless stated otherwise on entry form.

Message Board:  Tee times and general notices are posted on the Tour trailer.  All players are encouraged to check this message board before the first round of tournament play.

Withdrawals and No Shows:  Players will be assessed a $20 fee for all refund requests. Withdrawals will be accepted for any reason, when notice is given by 5:00 PM, the day before the practice round.  There are no fees for transferring entries to another WS event before the deadline. For withdrawals or no shows after this deadline, the player will waive his entry fee to the tournament.  Medical and personal withdrawals after the deadline will be evaluated on a case by case instance, and if accepted, there will be a $100 administrative fee.  The player must submit written documentation to the Tour office within 24 hours of withdrawal, and medical withdrawal documentation must be on Doctor's letterhead.  No Refund or credit will be given for any reason once a player has teed off.

Rainouts or Extreme Conditions:  All decisions for tournaments affected by rain or extreme conditions will be made on a case-by-case basis by the Tour Officials and the host professional.  Any weather shortened tournament is official only after 18 or 36 holes, with Tour Officials making every effort to complete as many rounds as possible.  No partial rounds will count.

Rule of the Week

5-1/5  Whether Player May Borrow Balls from Another Player

Q. During a stipulated round, a player runs out of balls. May he borrow one or more balls from another player?

A. Yes. Rule 4-4a prohibits a player from borrowing a club from another player playing on the course but the Rules do not prevent a player from borrowing other items of equipment (balls, towels, gloves, tees, etc.) from another player or an outside agency.

If the "One Ball" Condition in Appendix I is in effect, the player would need to obtain the same brand and type of ball as required by that condition.
