Frequently Asked Questions

Who is eligible to play in an Adams Golf Pro Tour Series event?
All professionals and amateurs with a USGA handicap of 5.0 or less may play on a space available basis.


When are tee times posted?
Where can I find the tee times?
The 1st & 2nd round tee times will be posted 36 hours prior to the start of each event.
Pairings will be posted in the golf shop, by the Tour trailer, front desk of the host hotel, and online at www.adamsgolfprotourseries.com; through each tournament's information page.


Do I have to pay for a practice round?

Practice rounds are FREE to members that want to walk.  A fee will apply to members and non-members that want to rent a golf cart - fee usually around $15.


How many players make the cut?

For the 2012 regular season, the top 40% of the starting field and ties after 36 holes will make the CUT at each Adams Golf Pro Tour Series event.  The maximum CUT size will be the top 50 players and ties (starting fields of 126 and more).


How will I receive my earnings from a tournament?

Final checks at each event will be sent out on the Friday after the final round.  Checks will be mailed to your address on file.  If you move during the year please contact the Tour office to update your address information.


How do I withdraw from a tournament?

Withdraws will be accepted for any reason, when notice is given by 5:00 PM on the Friday before the tournament week. There will be a $50 administrative fee for all withdrawals. Players MUST call the tour office at 972-535-0514 to withdraw.

For withdraws after this Friday deadline, the player will forfeit his entry fee to this tournament.  Medical and personal withdraws after this Friday deadline will be evaluated case-by-case, and if accepted, there will be a $100 administrative fee.

No refund or credit will be offered once a player has teed off during tournament play.  No Shows will NOT receive a refund or credit.


If I qualify or gain entry into
a PGA / Nationwide Tour event, will my entry fee be refunded?
Yes.  Please
contact our office at 972-535-0514 by 12:00 PM on Tuesday to notify of your qualification.  There is no fee to transfer the entry to another event, but if you request a refund, there is a $50 administrative fee.


Am I allowed to wear shorts while playing in an event?

Proper golf attire is required.  Slacks are preferred during tournament play, but shorts are allowed.  Slacks are required during pro-ams. Shirts are to be tucked in and hats worn forward.  No jeans!


Are range finders allowed during tournament play?

The use of distance-measuring devices will be permitted in all Adams Golf Pro Tour Series events.  The devices can only measure distance.  The use of devices that gauge or measure other conditions that may affect a player's play (e.g. wind or gradient), regardless of whether used, is NOT permitted.


Are golf carts allowed?
No.  Unless otherwise stated, all Adams Golf Pro Tour Series events will be walking.  Carts will be allowed during practice rounds.


Will I have to provide my own caddy?

No, you are allowed to carry your own bag. Some golf courses will have local caddies available.


Are pull / push carts allowed?
Yes.


Will private housing be available?

Private housing will be available at some events, but is not guaranteed.
Private housing will only be available to tour members.  Information regarding private housing can be found on each tournament's info page.


Is there a host hotel provided at each event?

Yes
, there will be a host hotel for each event that will provide a discounted rate to tournament players. Information regarding the host hotel can be found on each tournament's info page.


Are there any member benefits regarding equipment and apparel?

Yes,
Adams Golf will provide discounted golf equipment and adidas golf will provide discounted apparel.  Please visit the tab labeled "Discount Programs" to learn more.

8-1/2  Exchanging Distance Information

Information regarding the distance between two objects is public information and not advice.  It is therefore permissible for players to exchange information relating to the distance between two objects.  For example, a player may ask anyone, including his opponent, fellow-competitor or either of their caddies, the distance between his ball and the hole.
